We all are acquainted with Tata Nano, the cheapest car ever.
This car is designed for those who can’t able to afford expensive cars i.e. this
car is designed for common man. However, many high profile families also used
to drive Tata Nano.
Today, we are revealing a story behind the idea of making
Tata Nano. Many of us don’t know how Tata Nano came into existence or what made
Ratan Tata to launch such car like Tata Nano.
Idea Behind Launching Tata Nano
Once, Ratan Tata was traveling in his car on a rainy day.
Ratan Tata saw a man on a bike from his car’s window. That man is carrying
his whole family on a single bike, that too in a rainy day (total four persons
on a bike).
Ratan Tata even told his driver to keep distance from that
overloaded bike, as they might get dis-balanced because of wet road. Rattan Tata
keep looking at that man and suddenly an idea came up in his mind of creating a
car for a common man. Than he decided to create a car that costs approximately
equal to the price of a bike, and the price he decided was Rs.1 lakh.
After some days, Ratan tata revealed this idea of making a
car, which costs nearly equal to Rs 1 lakh, in a conference. After that
conference, this cheapest car became the breaking news across the India. Everyone
was talking about this car, as this was the first cheapest car of India.
Some Indian people used to call it lakhtakiya (resemblance of one lakh).
After hearing this news, many companies made rude comment on
this statement of creating the cheapest car. They just can’t believe that a
company can launch a car in just Rs. 1 lakh.
Ratan Tata faced many ups and down in the journey of making
of Tata Nano. It wasn’t so much easy to make a car that cost just Rs 1 lakh, as
the car must be of best quality also. The car company can not compensate with
the life on an individual. But, as the news of tata nano was become very
popular among the people and many people had some hopes on Tata Nano. Therefore, it is become mandatory
for Ratan Tata to launch the cheapest car of India.
A group of engineers works together and finally they
designed a car that fulfills all the requirements. Being a compact car, it’s
name was given as Nano.
When it comes to set up a plant of tata nano, the company
agains face difficulty to find the site for the plant. But finally they decided
toset up a plant at Sanand (Gujarat). This
plant is expected to deliver 5 lakh cars per year,
