Create 16-Digit Aadhar Virtual ID | Aadhar Security

Recently, government has come up with a new idea of generating Virtual ID for Adhar number. In this article we will discuss how important this virtual ID is and what are the benefits of this virtual ID. We will also tell you how you can create your own Virtual Aadhar ID.

Why We Need Aadhar Virtual ID?

As you all know, our Aadhar number has been linked with our bank account, PAN card, mobile number etc. So, it is believed that our personal information can accessed through the Aadhar number (which may or may not be true). Some media reports also says that Aadhar numbers are being sold to some other companies for their personal benefits. To avoid this problem, government has come up with an idea of Virtual ID. Virtual ID is a 16-Digit number which will be created by the person itself. This Virtual ID helps in hiding actual Aadhar number. So, if anyone asks us for Aadhar number, then we don’t need to share our actual Adhar number, simply sharing our virtual ID will do.

This Virtual ID is temporary and user can change it anytime, which makes this system more secure.  Therefore, we need Aadhar Virtual ID to strengthen security.

How To Generate Aadhar Virtual ID?

Any person can create his own virtual ID online through the official website of UIDAI (https://uidai.gov.in/). But this option is currently not available on their website. It is expected to be available from March 2018. We will also tell you step by step guide to generate Virtual ID once the option is made available on their website.
