Famous Temples Of Dehradun
Shiv Mandir
This temple is situated near the Kuthal Gate
(Mussoorie-Dehradun road). Hundreds of
devotees used to visit this temple everyday. Every tourist passing by this
temple used to spend some time at this temple. This temple has the beautiful
scenic view. Prasad is distributed to every person who visits this temple.
Along with the Prasad, you can also have a cup of tea in this temple for free (as a Prasad)
Tapkeshwar
Temple
It is one of the most popular and ancient temple of Dehradun.
It is situated at Garhi Cannt area, around 7 kilometers from the main dehradun
city. There is cave, which is called drone cave, where you can see a Shiv Ling
on which the water is continuously dripping. The water that drops down vanishes
underground and can be seen few yards away as a water stream. This temple is
situated between two hills, which attract the visitors.
Santaula
Devi Temple
This temple is situated at Santaur Garh, 15 kilometers from
the main dehradun city. Hundreds of devotees visit this temple for worship
everyday. This temple is very
good for god lovers. One can feel the peace of
mind while worshiping in this temple. Beautiful scenic view of this temple also
attracts the people.
Buddha
Temple
This temple is situated at Clement Town,
around 3-4 kilometers away from ISBT dehradun and approx 6-7 kilometers from
the main city. It is a Buddhist temple but every person of every religion used
to visit this temple including foreign tourists. The paintings and architecture
at this temple is mind blowing. A big Golden Colored Buddha statue is the
centre of attraction of this temple. Since this temple is easily accessible, a
large nimber of visitors used to visit this temple.
Kalu Siddh
It is one of the Siddh among the four Siddhs. The four
siddh’s are kalu siddh, lakshman siddh, manak siddh and madu siddh. These all
four Siddha are situated at Dehradun only. It is believed that visiting all the
four Siddhs in a single day will fulfill a devotee’s wishes. Kalu Siddh is
situated at the extreme outskirt of the Dehradun, near Bhaniyawala (Rishikesh Road).
This temple is around 25 kilometers from the main city at Dehradun-Rishikesh
road. People used to bring their new vehicle at this temple for special
worship. Nearby people used to visit this temple every Sunday’s.
Lakshman Siddh
Lakshman Siddh is loacated at Doiwala Road (near harrawala). Large
number of devotees used to visit this temple. This temple is situated inside
the forest, however, it is easily accessible. Like Kalu Siddh, this temple is
also visited the most at Sunday’s.
